Ramsay Health Care Limited has expanded its services with the opening of a new $20 million surgical centre in Charlestown, New South Wales. The purpose-built Ramsay Surgical Centre Charlestown is designed to meet the growing demand for specialist surgical services in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie regions. The facility features three operating theatres, with the potential to expand to four, and 12 inpatient beds equipped with state-of-the-art technology. It offers a wide range of specialist services including endoscopy, oral and maxillofacial surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, ENT, gynaecology, and MOHS skin cancer surgery. This development aims to reduce the pressure on larger hospitals in the area while providing residents with access to high-quality surgical care closer to home. The new centre complements existing services at Lake Macquarie Private Hospital and Warners Bay Private Hospital, enhancing care coordination across Ramsay's regional facilities.
