Shares of Quantum-Si fell after the company disclosed the pricing for its registered direct offering of $50 million worth of shares of its common stock.

The stock slid 11%, to $1.91, in premarket trading Monday. Through Thursday's close, shares have more than doubled in the past year.

The protein sequencing company said after Thursday's closing bell that it entered a securities purchase agreement with a single institutional investor to sell nearly 30 million shares of common stock, and common stock equivalents, for $1.67 apiece.

Quantum-Si expects gross proceeds of about $50 million from the sale, minus placement agent commissions and other offering expenses. The company plans to use proceeds for working capital and general corporate purposes.

The closing of the offering is expected to occur on or about Tuesday, subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions.
