Granite Construction Inc. has announced a significant project at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) as part of the airport's Capital Improvement Program. The company will serve as the Construction Manager/General Contractor for the Runway 1R-19L Rehabilitation and Taxiway W Construction Project. This initiative is aimed at modernizing and improving the airport's infrastructure, including runways and taxiways. Preconstruction activities are set to begin in June 2025, with major construction running from March to November 2026. The project, valued at approximately $115 million, will include upgrades to pavement, lighting, drainage, signage, and more. Granite will supply asphalt from its Santa Clara facility, contributing around 185,000 tons of mix for the project.
