L3Harris Technologies Inc. has announced a significant contract to overhaul and maintain the U.S. Navy's P-8A Poseidon aircraft fleet. Under the agreement, L3Harris will perform program depot maintenance, repairs, and overhauls for Naval Air Systems Command's fleet, which comprises 139 aircraft. The first overhauled P-8A Poseidon has already been delivered, marking a key milestone in supporting the Navy's readiness goals. The work began in 2024 at L3Harris' aircraft modification facility in Waco and is set to continue until September 2029. The contract also includes support for foreign military sales of P-8A aircraft. With this effort, L3Harris aims to enhance performance and extend the fleet's longevity, ensuring the Navy's fleet remains mission-ready for crucial operations such as maritime patrol and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance.
