IonQ Inc. has announced a new contract with the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) as part of South Korea's "Quantum Computing Service and Utilization System Construction Project." This collaboration will see IonQ deliver an advanced 100-qubit quantum system to support the establishment of South Korea's first National Quantum Computing Center of Excellence. The initiative aims to develop a quantum computing service and research platform for both academic and enterprise applications. IonQ has been identified as the primary quantum technology provider for the project, alongside Megazone Cloud. The partnership is expected to foster the development of a hybrid quantum-classical execution environment and contribute to the growth of Korea's quantum research and industrial ecosystem.
