Granite Construction Inc. has been awarded a significant $111 million contract by the Utah Department of Transportation for a major infrastructure project in Salt Lake City. The project involves the rehabilitation of 3 miles of Interstate 215 and 12 miles of ramps for State Route 201, Interstate 80, and California Avenue. Additionally, it includes the refurbishment of 22 bridges. Key components of the project entail rubblizing existing Portland Cement Concrete Pavement and overlaying it with 175,000 tons of highly modified hot mix asphalt, structural deck replacements, hydro demolition, and pothole patching. The project is set to begin in August 2025 and expected to be completed by November 2026, with Granite's Walker Hot Plant supplying the required materials.
