0552 GMT - Samsung Electronics is likely to get a strong earnings boost from higher memory-chip prices and seasonally strong demand for organic light-emitting diode panels in 3Q, HSBC analysts Ricky Seo and Hankil Chang say in a note. Prices of DRAM and NAND chips are expected to rise 7% and 8%, respectively, on quarter in 3Q, they estimate. Demand for smartphone and tablet OLED panels will also likely remain high in 3Q. Meanwhile, Samsung's long-delayed supply of high-bandwidth-memory 3E products to customers is expected to accelerate from 3Q, they add. HSBC expects Samsung's 3Q operating profit to double on quarter to 9.5 trillion won. (kwanwoo.jun@wsj.com)
