PG&E Corporation has entered into a partnership with Bridger Photonics Inc. to enhance methane leak detection and improve safety and efficiency within its natural gas systems. Bridger Photonics, a leader in methane detection technology for the oil and gas industry, will provide its advanced Gas Mapping LiDAR® technology to assist PG&E in efficiently identifying and repairing system leaks. This collaboration aims to significantly reduce methane emissions across PG&E's extensive natural gas transmission and distribution pipeline network, aligning with PG&E's commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2040. The use of Bridger's aerial leak detection technology will enable PG&E to prioritize repairs based on leak size and location, thereby improving safety and reducing emissions more effectively.
