ReElement Technologies, a subsidiary of American Resources Corporation, has launched an innovative urban mining-to-magnet tolling service aimed at revolutionizing the recycling of permanent magnets into high-purity rare earth oxides. This service promises cost-effective processing, achieving over 90% recovery rates and purities of 99.5% or higher for Nd, Pr, Dy, and Tb oxides at a competitive price of $25 to $35 per kilogram. By utilizing a reengineered refining platform originally developed by Purdue, ReElement offers a scalable and efficient solution that minimizes chemical use and waste. This breakthrough aims to establish a fully circular, U.S.-based supply chain, reducing dependency on global sources and fostering independence in critical mineral processing.
