Shandong Xinhua Pharmaceutical (SHE:000756) subsidiary Xinhua Health Technology has secured the approval of China's medical products administrator for its class three sterile saline solution for contact lens care.

The solution is designed for rinsing both rigid and soft contact lenses, according to a Wednesday filing with the Shenzhen bourse.

Shares of the pharmaceutical company rose 5% in recent trade.
