President Trump announced a deal with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization that would send weapons and air defenses to Ukraine within days.

"We've made a deal today where we are going to be sending them weapons and they're going to be paying for them," Trump said, sitting next to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. "We're not buying it, but we will manufacture it, and they're going to be paying for it."

Rutte explained those weapons will be sent to Ukraine.

Trump, who continued to express frustration with Russia's President Vladimir Putin, said that he will also attempt to ramp up economic pressure if there is no deal to end the war. The U.S. will impose "very severe tariffs if we don't have a deal in 50 days," Trump said during the meeting.

The shipment of weapons going to Ukraine in the coming days includes Patriot missile defense systems from some European countries, Trump said. The U.S. will then replenish supplies for the countries that donate. As many as 17 Patriot systems are ready to send, Trump said.
