1607 ET - AI is hurting the software-as-a-service business model and cloud computing giants will come out the winners, Melius analysts say in a research note. The cloud platforms of Microsoft, Oracle and Google allow customers to create, host and execute AI agents, allowing them to abandon software from companies like Adobe, Salesforce and Workday. The analysts noted that these AI agents are often unreliable but are improving rapidly and will soon be widely employed in customer service, data analysis and software development. Melius raised its price targets for Oracle and Microsoft to $270 and $595, respectively. (nicholas.miller@wsj.com)
