Westwater Resources Inc. has announced its support for the U.S. Department of Commerce's recent anti-dumping ruling concerning graphite-based anode materials imported from China. The ruling confirms that Chinese producers are violating anti-dumping rules by selling these materials at unfairly low prices, harming U.S. domestic producers. This decision follows an earlier ruling on countervailing duties, which identified unfair government subsidies to Chinese companies. As a result, total import penalties on Chinese graphite-anode material now exceed 100%, with tariffs and duties reaching up to 869.5% in some cases. Westwater's Chief Commercial Officer, Jon Jacobs, emphasized that these rulings provide long-term support for U.S.-based graphite production, highlighting the strategic need and opportunity for domestic anode producers.
