Iberdrola Deutschland, the German subsidiary of Iberdrola SA, has launched its first solar farm in Germany, marking a significant step in the company's renewable energy expansion. Located in the municipality of Boldekow, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, approximately 180 kilometers north of Berlin, the solar park is set to generate over 53 gigawatt-hours of renewable electricity annually. This energy will power around 3,000 Vodafone mobile towers, contributing to the decarbonization and energy transition efforts in the region. Over its planned 30-year lifespan, the facility is expected to prevent approximately 20,000 tons of CO₂ emissions per year. By incorporating photovoltaic energy, Iberdrola is enhancing its renewable energy portfolio in Germany, where it is already the largest operator of offshore wind energy in the German Baltic Sea.
