AECOM has been selected to design significant track improvements for England's busiest passenger railway corridors as part of the Southern Renewals Enterprise $(SRE)$ initiative. Appointed by VolkerRail, AECOM will provide multidisciplinary design services, including topographical surveys and engineering design, to enhance the Network Rail's Southern Region, which supports around 700 million passenger journeys annually. This region, stretching from Devon to Kent, includes major routes and transport hubs. The SRE, a £9 billion renewals portfolio running from 2024 to 2034, aims to improve rail infrastructure through increased collaboration and long-term planning.
