UNITIL Corporation has announced a series of initiatives aimed at helping Massachusetts residents manage rising summer cooling costs through energy-efficient programs offered by Mass Save. Mass Save, a collaboration of Massachusetts' electric and natural gas utilities and energy efficiency service providers, offers various programs designed to facilitate energy-efficient upgrades for residents, businesses, and communities. These programs include rebates and incentives for upgrading appliances and products to more energy-efficient versions. Among the offerings are appliance recycling, heating and cooling upgrades, and home energy assessments. Notably, Mass Save provides a $75 rebate for the removal and recycling of inefficient refrigerators and freezers, as well as $40 rebates for ENERGY STAR-certified room air conditioners. Furthermore, all homes are eligible for a no-cost home energy assessment, which offers personalized recommendations for energy efficiency improvements and access to discounts on upgrades, such as weatherization and insulation. The initiatives align with Unitil's commitment to supporting energy efficiency and cost savings for their customers in New England.
