American Airlines Group Inc.'s stock was down 3% in premarket trading after the carrier said it expects an adjusted third-quarter loss of 10 cents a share to 60 cents a share, below the FactSet consensus estimate for earnings of 3 cents a share.
For calendar year 2025, American Airlines now projects a loss of 20 cents a share to earnings of 80 cents a share, with a midpoint of 30 cents a share. Analysts had expected earnings of 72 cents a share for the year.
American Airlines reported second-quarter adjusted profit of 95 cents a share, well ahead of the FactSet consensus estimate of 78 cents a share.
Revenue increased by 0.4% to $14.39, a record, and beat the analyst estimate of $14.29 billion.
