Boss Energy (ASX: BOE) has announced that managing director Duncan Craib will step down from the role next month after eight years with the company.
Chief operating officer Matt Dusci will take over as managing director and chief executive officer from October and will work closely with Mr Craib to ensure a seamless transition.
Mr Dusci joined Boss last year to oversee the ramp-up of operations at the re-started Honeymoon uranium mine in South Australia.
Mr Dusci has more than 25 years of resources and mining industry experience across exploration, technical studies, operations, public markets, joint venture management, corporate governance, strategy and executive leadership.
He has previously held executive positions at PMI Gold, Gold Fields, WMC Resources and IGO (ASX: IGO), where he was acting chief executive officer, chief operating officer and chief growth officer.
“Matt has done an excellent job for the past year in successfully ramping up Honeymoon, and we believe his significant operational, technical and industry experience will stand us in good stead,” Boss chair Wyatt Buck said.
Mr Buck also thanked Mr Craib for his role in restarting the Honeymoon operation, which recently met its first-year production guidance of 850,000 pounds of uranium oxide drummed.
“Under Duncan’s leadership, we have been able to generate considerable growth for our shareholders in the transition from an exploration and development company to an ASX200-listed company,” he said.
“Duncan has led Boss from a micro-cap developer to being one of the few uranium producers in Australia and we thank him for his leadership.”
Mr Craib thanked shareholders, industry stakeholders and government for their support and encouragement during his tenure.
“It has been an honour steering Boss on the path from project development to production and watching Honeymoon become Australia’s only new operating uranium mine in the past decade,” he said.
“I am extremely proud of everything the team has achieved and the challenges they overcame to successfully build and operate Honeymoon and deliver a globally sought-after uranium product.”
Mr Craib has agreed to remain with the company as a non-executive director, commencing in the new year.
