Uber Technologies Inc. is set to expand its Women Preferences feature, offering women riders and drivers in the U.S. more control and flexibility. This initiative, which allows women riders to choose women drivers, will soon be piloted in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Detroit. Initially launched in Saudi Arabia in 2019, the feature has since expanded to 40 countries, completing over 100 million trips. The program aims to enhance safety and comfort for women, with options to request on-demand rides, reserve trips in advance, or set preferences for women drivers. Women drivers will also have the option to request trips with women riders, empowering them with more earning opportunities.
