LG Uplus, Arirang TV Team Up for Satellite Transmission, FAST Channel Expansion

LG Uplus (KRX:032640) signed a memorandum of understanding with Arirang International Broadcasting, or Arirang TV, to expand global broadcast distribution, focusing on the North American FAST market and satellite transmission in Africa and Central/South America.

The two will develop a hybrid transmission network combining satellite and IP, leveraging LG Uplus' infrastructure and marketing with Arirang's global reach, the South Korean mobile network operator said Monday.

Plans comprise the launch of FAST channel in North America via LG Channel, and applying LG Uplus' AI for real-time subtitles and translation, it said.
