Canyon Resources (ASX:CAY) said it appointed a mining contractor and ore haulage contractor scheduled to mobilize to the Minim Martap bauxite project in Cameroon by the end of the year to commence mine production in the first quarter of 2026, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.
It began a feasibility study into the development of a value-adding alumina refinery, leveraging the benefits of its low-silica, high-grade ores.
It appointed the main road construction contractor that will be responsible for upgrading the haulage road for the project.
The firm's shares rose 8% in recent trading on Monday.
