HSBC (HKG:0005) said it bought back for cancellation 5.1 million shares from Morgan Stanley, according to a Hong Kong bourse filing Friday.
The bank bought 3.2 million shares from UK avenues, which include the London Stock Exchange, Aquis Exchange, and Cboe Europe, at a volume-weighted average price of 9.63 pounds sterling each.
HSBC also repurchased a further 1.9 million shares from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange at a volume weighted average price of HK$101.46 apiece.
The shares were repurchased as part of the company's buy-back program.
