Jacobs Solutions Inc. has been awarded a significant contract to lead an Environmental Impact Statement $(EIS)$ for the Salt River Project in Arizona, aimed at advancing sustainable hydropower solutions. The project involves evaluating a new pumped storage hydropower facility to complement Apache Lake on the Salt River, a region known for its rich wildlife and popular recreational areas. This initiative will include the construction of a new reservoir and additional transmission infrastructure to connect with SRP's existing 500-kilovolt transmission line. Jacobs will assess the environmental impacts in compliance with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, U.S. Forest Service, and other regulatory agencies. This project is part of Jacobs' ongoing collaboration with SRP to deliver sustainable energy solutions while addressing cultural, visual, biological, and recreational resource challenges.
