Toyota Motor (TM) said Wednesday that its global sales was 5.5 million vehicles for the first half of this year, up from 5.2 million units a year earlier.

It added that its global vehicle production increased to 4.9 million vehicles in the first six months of the year, up from 4.6 million vehicles a year earlier.

Toyota shares were up more than 1% in recent premarket activity.
