Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care (NSE:PGHH, BOM:500459) net profit for the fiscal first quarter more than doubled to 1.92 billion Indian rupees from 810.6 million rupees a year ago.
Earnings per share for the quarter ended June 30 jumped to 59.17 rupees from 24.97 rupees a year earlier, according to a Wednesday filing to the stock exchanges by the healthcare and hygiene products manufacturer.
Revenue from operations in fiscal Q1 increased to 9.37 billion rupees from 9.32 billion rupees a year earlier.
Shares of the company were up 5.7% during after-market hours.
