Tonga Offshore Mining Ltd (TOML), a subsidiary of TMC the metals company Inc., has signed a revised Sponsorship Agreement with the Government of the Kingdom of Tonga. This updated agreement ensures that Tonga will continue to benefit from the development of seafloor mineral resources by TOML or other TMC subsidiaries. The Kingdom of Tonga has been a pioneering force in the seafloor minerals industry, advocating for the rights of Developing States. Through this agreement, Tonga secures financial benefits, training, capacity-building, and community programs, while maintaining its role as a committed sponsor of TOML.
