Shares of Washington H. Soul Pattinson and Company (ASX:SOL) fell nearly 1% in Monday trade, while shares of Brickworks (ASX:BKW) was flat with a slight negative tilt after Soul Pattinson said in a late Friday bourse filing that that the Supreme Court of New South Wales ordered a meeting of its shareholders to be held to decide on the parties' proposed merger via two inter-conditional schemes of arrangement.
The scheme meeting is scheduled for Sept. 10, per the filing.
The company's board continues to recommend that shareholders vote in favor of the scheme in the absence of a superior proposal and subject to a conclusion by an independent expert that the merger is in the shareholders' best interests, the filing added.
