IAG's Ebit Beat, Guidance, Likely to Drive Upgrades -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
2025/08/01

0802 GMT - IAG's 250 million-euro EBIT beat in 2Q is enough to drive upgrades of 5% to 6%, RBC Capital Markets analyst Ruairi Cullinane says in a note. The airline group lowered its total fuel cost guidance for the year by 5.3% to 7.1 billion euros, which could make consensus estimates rise by even more, he says. The company is 57% booked for the second half with revenue in line with last year, compared with 29% booked for the 2H last year. "We think IAG has a stronger outlook than given credit for, given a supportive capacity backdrop on the Atlantic, pricing potential from BA product measures, and given scope for business travel recovery to step up further," he says. Shares are up 1.3% at 385.50 pence. (anthony.orunagoriainoff@dowjones.com)
