BlockBeats News, August 5th, according to Bloomberg, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is exploring how to allow leveraged digital assets, such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, to be listed on partially registered futures trading platforms.
CFTC Acting Chair Caroline Pham stated, "CFTC can now take a clear and straightforward approach." She referenced a column she published in March of this year, where she suggested that the agency could exercise its exemption authority to allow certain firms to operate outside of current regulatory constraints — which currently only permit futures trading platforms to list derivative products.
CFTC has now sought public comment on trading spot market contracts of crypto assets listed on registered futures trading platforms, with a deadline of August 18th.
