Energy Transfer LP has announced a financial investment decision to expand its Transwestern Pipeline, aiming to boost natural gas supply to Arizona and New Mexico markets from the prolific Permian Basin. The Desert Southwest pipeline expansion will include 516 miles of 42-inch pipeline and nine compressor stations across Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas, with a design capacity of 1.5 billion cubic feet per day. This strategic expansion will enhance system reliability and support growing energy demands fueled by population growth and industry needs. The project is slated for completion by the fourth quarter of 2029. Energy Transfer LP, a major player in U.S. energy infrastructure, operates extensive pipelines and assets across 44 states.
