5N Plus Inc., a leading global producer of specialty semiconductors and performance materials, has announced an expanded supply agreement with First Solar, Inc. This new contract increases 5N Plus's production and delivery of cadmium telluride (CdTe) by 33% for the 2025-2026 period and by an additional 25% for 2027-2028. Furthermore, starting in 2026, 5N Plus will begin producing and delivering Cadmium Selenide (CdSe) to First Solar. These materials are crucial for First Solar's thin-film photovoltaic solar modules. This agreement underscores the strong collaboration between the two companies and supports First Solar's efforts to expand its U.S. manufacturing capacity, aiming for 14 gigawatts of American manufacturing capacity by 2026.
