Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Holdings (TYO:8309) said its Common Equity Tier 1 capital ratio rose to 12.1% as of June 30 from 11.5% at the end of March, while its total capital ratio increased to 15.2% from 14.3%, according to a Wednesday filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The gains came as Tier 1 capital rose to 3.119 trillion yen and risk-weighted assets fell to 22.643 trillion yen. Its banking unit also posted higher capital ratios across consolidated and non-consolidated bases.
