By Keira Wingate

Aug 12 - (The Insurer) - Assurant has named Mike Campbell as executive vice president and chief operating officer, overseeing global operations and information technology, effective September 15.

Campbell, who joined the company in 2006, most recently served as president of global housing. In his new role, he will focus on enhancing operational efficiency, advancing the firm’s technology roadmap and integrating digital infrastructure with execution to accelerate innovation and enhance client and customer experiences.

Since 2006, he has held several senior leadership roles, including his most recent position as president of global housing, which he has served in since 2019.

Ryan Lumsden will succeed Campbell as executive vice president and president of global housing. Lumsden, who led Assurant’s renters business for nearly six years, has been with the company since 2014 and previously held senior roles in strategy and business development.

He brings more than 25 years of experience in financial services, including leadership positions at Equifax, General Electric and Metris Companies.

“For the last six years, Mike has led Global Housing, expanding our market-leading position and significantly growing that business,” Keith Demmings, president and CEO of Assurant, said in a press release. “His operational experience and proven success in scaling complex businesses make him ideally suited to drive enterprise-wide execution and efficiency in this new role.”
