Market Chatter: FedEx, UPS, DHL Executives in India to Face More Scrutiny in Antitrust Probe

FedEx (FDX), United Parcel Service (UPS), DHL, and Aramex executives in India are facing fresh scrutiny by the Federation of Indian Publishers in an antitrust probe related to alleged price collusion by delivery companies, Reuters reported Thursday, citing an internal Competition Commission of India document.

The companies were cleared of any wrongdoing last year by the CCI, but the watchdog has now seen merit in a complaint by the publishers' group, which noted it should be allowed to cross-examine executives of the delivery companies, as investigators relied on oral submissions to give them a clean chit, according to the report.

The CCI investigations division will now oversee the cross-examination proceedings in coming weeks and submit a report to antitrust officials for review, sources familiar with the matter told Reuters.

FedEx, United Parcel Service, DHL, and Aramex did not immediately respond to requests for comments from MT Newswires.
