Aurizon Holdings' (ASX:AZJ) fiscal year 2025 result was largely in line with expectations, but earnings per share missed expectations below the earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation line, Jarden said in a Monday note.
The company reported Monday fiscal year 2025 earnings of AU$0.195 per share, down from AU$0.221 a year earlier. Analysts polled by FactSet expected earnings of AU$0.20.
The research firm said that the provision release of AU$50 million for short-term compensation and insurance unwind is an "interesting element" and "requires follow-up.
The other elements that the research firm found of interest were legal settlement costs included in the underlying "other" segment, and the cost-out target increased to AU$60 million from AU$50 million.
Jarden has maintained its neutral rating with an unchanged target price of AU$3.10.
The company's shares rose 2% in recent Monday trade.
