China Eastern Airlines' (SHA:600115, HKG:0670) passenger count grew 6% to 13.7 million in July from 12.9 million in the year-ago period, according to a Saturday filing with the Shanghai bourse.

Shares rose 1% in Shanghai during morning trading on Monday.

Passenger capacity rose 7.4% to 29.7 billion available seat-kilometers in July from 27.7 billion available seat kilometers a year earlier.

Freight carried grew 7.9% to 94,130 tonnes from 87,230 tonnes.

Cargo capacity increased 4.8% to 860.3 million available freight tonne-kilometers from 821.3 million available freight tonne-kilometers, the filing said.
