Consumer non-durables shares gained the most on New Zealand's Exchange, rising nearly 11% by midday Thursday.
Fonterra Co-operative Group (NZE:FCG) gained past 18% in recent trade.
The company on Friday said it will divest its global consumer business, excluding greater China, and consumer brands, the integrated Foodservice and Ingredients businesses in Oceania and Sri Lanka, as well as the Middle East and Africa Foodservice business, to Lactalis for NZ$3.85 billion.
Meanwhile, the consumer services sector fell 8%.
SkyCity Entertainment Group (ASX:SKC, NZE:SKC) was down 29% in recent trade after it said it will raise AU$240 million via an equity raising to provide balance sheet resilience.
