Entergy Louisiana has received approval from the Louisiana Public Service Commission (LPSC) to proceed with significant infrastructure investments aimed at supporting Meta's new data center in Richland Parish. The landmark agreement will enable Entergy to enhance the state's electric grid, ultimately benefiting all Entergy Louisiana customers. As part of this initiative, Entergy Louisiana is authorized to procure up to 1,500 megawatts of solar resources through an expedited certification process. Additionally, the company will construct three new modern combined cycle combustion turbine generation facilities, with two located in Richland Parish and one at the Waterford site in St. Charles Parish, expected to be operational by 2028 and 2029, respectively. These developments signify a major step forward in improving reliability and meeting the future energy needs of the region.
