FirstEnergy Corporation's subsidiary, Potomac Edison, will be providing Legislative Energy Relief Refund bill credits to its residential customers in Maryland. This initiative is part of the Next Generation Energy Act, aimed at alleviating the impact of rising electricity costs. The credits are funded through payments made by utilities and electricity suppliers in adherence to Maryland's renewable energy laws, ensuring that these will not be charged back to customers. Potomac Edison, which serves around 285,000 customers in Maryland and about 155,000 in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, is committed to helping customers manage their energy expenses. In addition to the bill credits, Potomac Edison offers various year-round programs, including bill assistance for income-eligible customers and energy efficiency tools, to support those facing financial hardship.
