Shares of Piedmont Lithium (ASX:PLL) were flat in Monday's trade, while shares of Sayona Mining (ASX:SYA) rose 8%, after the company said that a majority of its shareholders on Aug.22 approved the parties' proposed merger.

A total of 96.94% of the votes cast by eligible shareholders in the meeting were in favor of the acquisition, the statement said.
