--EssilorLuxottica is considering a potential deal to raise its stake in Japanese optical equipment manufacturer Nikon Corp., Bloomberg reported, citing unnamed sources.

--The Franco-Italian maker of Ray-Ban glasses is looking to increase its Nikon stake to around 20% from the nearly 9% it currently holds, Bloomberg reports. Discussions are taking place but there is no certainty a transaction will materialize, according to the same sources, Bloomberg said.

--Representatives for EssilorLuxottica and Nikon declined to comment to Bloomberg.
