Guangzhou Automobile Group or GAC Group (HKG:2238, SHA:601238) incurred an attributable loss of 2.54 billion yuan in the first half of 2025, compared with an attributable profit of 1.52 billion yuan a year prior, a Friday Hong Kong bourse filing said.
Loss per share in the interim period was 0.25 yuan, whereas the company had made earnings per share of 0.14 yuan a year prior.
The automaker's revenue slid 7.9% to 42.6 billion yuan in the six months from 46.3 billion yuan in the corresponding period of the last year.
The firm attributed the swing to loss mainly to lower sales of automobiles and sales volume of several key NEV models, and a slow improvement in the efficiency of the marketing system among other factors.
