Uniper postpones restart of Swedish nuclear reactor Oskarshamn 3

STOCKHOLM, Aug 29 (Reuters) - Uniper UN0k.DE and Fortum-owned FORTUM.HE OKG has extended an outage at its Oskarshamn 3 nuclear reactor in Sweden until October 17.

The 40-year-old reactor, which has installed power capacity of 1.4 gigawatts, has been offline since March 29 for planned annual maintenance and refuelling.

It was originally scheduled to return to service on April 18, but this has been postponed several times, most recently to September 17. The maintenance revealed that a pipe in the plant was damaged, the company has said, causing delays.

German utility Uniper owns 54.5% of OKG, with Finnish company Fortum owning the remaining stake.
