TVS Motor Company's (NSE:TVSMOTOR, BOM:532343) total sales rose 30% to 509,536 units in August, against 391,588 units sold a year ago, according to a Monday filing with the Indian stock exchanges.

The company's total two-wheeler sales grew 30% year-on-year to 490,788 units in August, while three-wheeler sales were up 47% to 18,748 units in the reported month.

Electric vehicle sales also rose to 25,138 units in August from 24,779 units a year earlier.

The company's total exports also increased 35% to 135,367 units in August from 99,976 units a year ago.

TVS' shares were up nearly 3% in recent trade.
