Charter Communications Inc.'s Spectrum has launched its high-speed internet, mobile, TV, and voice services in Scott County, Kentucky, reaching over 5,100 homes and businesses. This expansion is part of Spectrum's $7 billion rural construction initiative, aiming to deliver gigabit broadband access to underserved communities across the U.S. The project, which received more than $15.3 million in investment, including over $3 million from a National Telecommunications and Information Administration grant, enhances the county's connectivity with broadband speeds up to 2 Gbps. Local officials hailed the project as a significant milestone, highlighting its potential to provide opportunities for education and technology use in rural areas. Spectrum's efforts are part of a larger strategy to expand its fiber network by an additional 100,000+ miles, ultimately reaching more than 1.7 million new locations nationwide.
