SMX (Security Matters) plc has announced a strategic partnership with A*STAR (Agency for Science, Technology and Research), Singapore's leading public sector research agency, to develop a national plastic circularity platform. This collaboration will integrate SMX's chemical molecular marking technology with A*STAR's advanced digital and spectroscopic research capabilities. The initiative will create a digital passport for plastics, allowing for real-time tracking and tracing of thousands of tonnes of post-consumer waste. The project aims to enhance transparency and efficiency in recycling, supporting Singapore's vision of a sustainable, circular economy. The first phase of the collaboration is set to launch in 2026, with a full-scale commercial showcase planned for 2027.
