CHC Helicopter has announced the introduction of three upgraded AW139 helicopters, known as RAC Rescue, into service in Western Australia. These helicopters, specially modified for all-hazards rescue and advanced aeromedical care, are part of a AUS $26.7 million investment by the WA Government to enhance the state's emergency response capabilities. The aircraft boast faster speeds, longer range, and advanced onboard care, enabling them to deliver critical care within the vital 'golden hour'. The RAC Rescue helicopters, operated by CHC and funded by the State Government, are managed by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services and sponsored by RAC. This operational transition replaces the Bell 412EP's that have flown over 10,500 missions since 2003.
