Bayan Mining and Minerals (ASX:BMM) said a geophysics-led desktop study across its 100% owned Desert Star projects in California identified four coherent and high-priority rare earth elements targets across the Desert Star and Desert Star North claim blocks, according to a Friday Australian bourse filing.
The targets were defined through the integration of US Geological Survey airborne geophysical data, satellite spectral analysis, and reconnaissance radiometric data, by coincident magnetic, gravity, radiometric, geochemical, and spectral anomalies.
The firm is planning to start detailed ground magnetic and radiometric surveys, along with a detailed gravity survey at the area.
The firm's shares fell 5% in recent trading on Friday.
