The case, filed in the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, involves alleged infringement of three U.S. patents from the HFT patent portfolio. These patents, acquired in March 2022, pertain to technologies used in high frequency trading activities, specifically those utilizing field-programmable gate array (FPGA) hardware for critical transaction latency improvements. The portfolio currently includes eleven issued patents and two pending applications, with patent terms expected to extend until 2040. The portfolio is available for licensing to firms utilizing these technologies in their trading activities.
