Tesla (TSLA) is in early talks with San Francisco, San Jose, and Oakland airports to obtain approval to provide passenger pick-ups and drop-offs via its ride-hailing service, Politico reported Tuesday, citing sources with details of the matter.
San Francisco International Airport confirmed receiving Tesla's request and said discussions are being scheduled, according to the report. San Jose airport reportedly said the electric carmaker inquired about a charter-party permit, but has not submitted a formal application.
Tesla's public policy team has reached out to Oakland airport, though no meeting has occurred yet, Politico said citing airport officials.
Representatives of the airports and Tesla didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
